Although Pregnancy is a huge milestone for many, women have a hate-joy relationship with their pregnancy body. They feel insecure because of the weight gain and are not comfortable enough to hold the confidence that they had in them before pregnancy. It is completely natural to feel that way. You don’t have to beat yourself for not loving your body while pregnant. Newmi care brings some positive tips to breathe inside you so that you can exercise them and love yourself the way you should be while you are carrying your baby.

How do you feel when you are pregnant?

Pregnancy is a complete roller coaster of hormones. At one moment you are exhilarated and in exuberant spirits, and next moment you feel low with sudden meltdowns. In the initial trimester, many women feel morning sickness and are low on energy levels. This is because your baby is getting adjusted to the surroundings in your womb and your body undergoes drastic changes to make room for your baby. It is very common to hate the body at this time and you find it hard to reconcile to the fact that all these emotional switches and physical discomforts are happening to you.

Do all women feel confident in themselves while they are expecting?

Not all women feel confident in themselves. Some women gain a lot during pregnancy. This weight gain paired with a lot of hormonal changes impacts their confidence level. They don’t feel comfortable about their body and are conscious about what they wear. The lack of confidence affects many women and brings in a lot of negative thoughts in their mind.

What are the various ways to be confident in your pregnancy skin?

Here are simple tips for feeling confident during pregnancy:

Affirmations

Breathe some positive self-talk to yourself when you wake up. Fill your hearts and minds with positivity. Say something like “I am beautiful” or “This day is going to be beautiful.” These words will have a ripple effect throughout the day and would reflect positively in all the actions that you do on that day. Affirmations can erase negative thoughts in a second. The power of saying something positive to yourself when you are pregnant will not only impact healthily on your health but also it holds a power to unlock benefits to your growing baby’s health.

Physical fitness

Regular fitness routine is a must in pregnancy to keep your mood elevated. Prenatal yoga has tremendous benefits like it helps maintain your pregnancy body weight, alleviates risk of gestational diabetes and produces feel good hormones that helps in your mental health. Do not fret over the weight gained but be consistent in your fitness routine. You can join a prenatal class or hire a yoga instructor to learn different exercises/asanas and also learn pelvic floor exercise to avoid pelvic dysfunction post pregnancy. Being fit and active will support body confidence during pregnancy.

Garbhasanskar

Garbh means ‘foetus’ and sanskar means ‘training a mind’; together it translates to educating a foetus’ mind for its betterment and mindful connection with itself. What you want your baby to do, you should knead it with your mind and thoughts. Garbhasanskar vibes are very important to keep you positive and confident in your pregnancy body. If you feel motivated to adopt healthy ways of living, you automatically get into a zone where only confidence resides. You feel good about yourself, and in turn give a positive and supportive environment to your baby. The set of Garbhasanskar activities are meditation and breathing techniques, creative activities like painting, listening to good music, reading positive books, shloka chanting and most important talking to your baby in a soft tone.

Healthy eating

Strong mind needs rich and healthy foods. Food is a fodder which will nourish your mind with good thoughts. Maintain a healthy diet full of wholesome pregnancy foods. Get into a balanced diet and do not give into cravings often. Avoid unsafe foods which will cause harm to your body and your baby.

Selfcare

Selfcare is prioritizing your physical and emotional health by giving due importance to both, in equal measure. Tending for yourself and your needs is vital to be happy and stress-free. Selfcare releases feel-good hormones like oxytocin and dopamine and brings harmony to your mind, body, and soul. You can practice selfcare activities like journaling, shopping for nice maternity wear for yourself, getting nails done or talking to a friend.

Maternity clothes –

Spend some time looking over a wide range of collections in the Newmi care shop. Buy some maternity wear or kurtis like maternity maxi dress, ruffle tops, co-ord set kurtis and flaunt your bump with style and elegance. A beautiful attire takes care of your external beauty and when you look good, you feel good about yourself. This will make you love your pregnant body.

Quality spouse time

Talk to your partner and let him know about how his emotional support will help you gain more confidence. His emotional availability is very important and it augments the efforts that you are putting toward your selfcare. Spend time with your partner and communicate your worries or fears with him. Having a partner’s support increases your confidence level to battle all odds and embrace the joy of pregnancy.

Childbirth classes

Pregnancy comes with a lot of unheard challenges and is a journey to the unknown. When you are venturing into something unknown, you should go well prepared. Childbirth classes educate you about what diets to follow, how to handle childbirth pain, natural pain management methods and breastfeeding techniques. Talking to a childbirth expert helps you unravel a lot of preconceived notions about pregnancy and see a practical picture of it.
